To Viewing Chinese in Your Browser
You need to have the right versions of the browser and Chinese fonts in your system.
For Netscape browser, the version
needs to be 4.0 and up
For Microsoft Internet
Explorer, the version needs to be 3.0 and up.

and Up:
ie3lpktw.exe
Traditional Chinese(big5) font MingLiu.

Simplified Chinese(gb) fonts MS Song and MS Hei
(The above Chinese fonts can also be downloaded together with downloading Internet
Explorer 5.0 )
Installation of Chinese Fonts
Double click the downloaded file ie3lpktw to install traditional Chinese(big5) font
MingLiu.
Double click the downloaded file ie3lpkcn to install simplified Chinese(gb) fonts MS Song
and MS Hei.
To install Chinese Fonts in IE 5.0,double click the file ie5setup,select custom
installation and in the Multi Language Support section,choose Chinese(Traditional) and
Chinese(Simplified).
Browser Chinese Font Setting
The Chinese font setting in a browser varies with its type and version as follows:
Netscape 4.0 and up
Click Edit-->preference-->font. For the Encoding, Select Traditional Chinese.
Then select MingLiu font for both the Variable and fixed width fonts. If Simplified
Chinese is selected for the Encoding, then select MS Song or MS Hei font for both the
Variable and fixed width fonts.
To view a Chinese web page, click View-->character set-->then select either
Traditional or Simplified Chinese.
Internet Explorer 5.0
Browser Chinese font setting are done automatically during installation of Chinese Fonts.
To view a Chinese web page, click View-->Encoding-->then select either Chinese
Traditional or Simplified.(If Chinese fonts were not installed at the initial IE 5.0
setup,then you will be prompted to download Chinese fonts.)
Internet Explorer 4.0
Click View-->Internet Options-->click Fonts-->in Character sets section choose
Chinese Traditional-->select MingLiu font for both the proportional and fixed width
fonts or choose Chinese Simplified, then select MS Song or MS Hei font for both the
proportional and fixed width fonts.
To view a Chinese web page, click View-->Fonts-->then select either Chinese
Traditional or Simplified(GB2312).
Internet Explorer 3.0
Click View-->Options-->click Font Settings-->in Language section choose Chinese
Traditional-->select MingLiu font for both the proportional and fixed width fonts or
choose Chinese Simplified, then select MS Song or MS Hei font for both the proportional
and fixed width fonts.
To view a Chinese web page, click View-->Options-->then select either Chinese
Traditional or Simplified as default language.
